Hello, my name is Dilhani!
about Me
ResumeOCT QualificationOCT Certificate
My name is Dilhani Anthonypillai. I am a Graduate Student to complete my Masters in Education. I completed my Bachelors of Education within the Primary/Junior Divisions for DPCDSB, and my Bachelors of Science Honours Biology at York University.
I was an emergency supply instuctor for St.Maria Gorretti and St.Jean Marie-Vianney, peer mentor for Vanier College, Athlete Services Representative for the Athletic and Recreations department at York University. I am now an Occasional Teacher for DPCDSB and a confirmation leader for St.Francis of Xaiver church. I am also a tutor for all subject categories up to and including Grade 12/1st year University.
My interests/hobbies are cooking and eating, road trips and working out. I was a student athlete myself so physical activity and sports have always been apart of my life in some shape or form. I recently have taken up kickboxing the past few years and it has been a great experience learning a new sport as an adult!
What interests me about the primary/junior divisions is their excitement, openness and readiness to learn and be accepting of their faith and others. I am a Catholic, I have recieved Catholic education for my whole life till post-secondary school. Additionally, my Mother and Maternal Grandmother were both teachers for DPCDSB. My Maternal Grandparents were heavily involved with Our Lady of Airways parish in Malton, so Catholic Education to me was always incorporated with communal and family learning. Catholic Education to me, is intertwined with our everyday lives in how we treat and respect people for their differences and similarities. Catholic Education to me means that we are open to and accepting of differing faiths to embrace and uplift children and to learn from one another. Which is why I want to teach within the Catholic Board to bridge the secular divide, to bridge gaps from faith and discrimination and to uplift students through Catholic Education.
